A mouse should not slide around under my hand or under my fingers – it should move with my hand. I will deduct an egg for the slick parts of the mouse though. I will not remove an egg for button placement (the 2 side buttons I cannot easily reach) as it could either be the way I grip a mouse, my hand shape, or the fact that the mouse is meant to be able to be used by left handed people too that cause me to have issues with that – the design does not work for me, but my wife says it does for her. However, the slick parts of the mouse and the 2 unusable buttons for me make me reluctant to give it a perfect score. Being able to change the weight and customize lights and button functions easily is also nice. I like the feel of the mouse in my hand quite a bit. This mouse is a bit tricky to say one way or the other. Overall Review: Please bear in mind that mice are very much to a person’s individual taste and hand shape/size. This mouse is a bit thinner than what I am used to, it is less comfortable to me than a thicker mouse would be. This gives the mouse 6 usable buttons for me. I can easily reach both of the buttons at my thumb, but if I want to use the buttons on the other side of the mouse, I am forced to bend my finger and an odd angle or move my entire grip on the mouse to the side, which is not ideal while gaming – my wife does not have the same issue though. The placement of the side buttons does not seem ideal for my hand. With this mouse I do have to push down just a tiny bit or my finger will just glide over the scroll wheel it doesn’t take much force at all and I did get used to it fairly quickly, but it is an annoyance to me. I am used to easily being able to scroll up and down with minimal pressure. Unfortunately, one of those places is the scroll wheel. Parts of the mouse are pretty slick to the touch. Side button placement (6 usable buttons for me) The mouse has absolutely no functionality issues, the buttons have a nice click to them and the mouse has an overall high-quality feel to it. The mouse has a nice rubberized feel that is nice on my hand. It is also nice to know that it can be used easily by people who are left OR right-handed. The LEDs are very customizable almost all the LEDs can be changed individually.

The software for changing the LED colors and functions of the buttons is very easy to understand and use. The height of the mouse can also be adjusted fairly easily, which is nice as well. There are 2 side grips available for each side of the mouse that are easily interchangeable (they use magnets to connect). There are 2 weights that weigh 4.5 grams each that can be put into either side to make the mouse heavier. Overall this mouse is great in terms of what you can customize. Good button count (8 if you count the scroll wheel) Other than that, it is a very solid offering. My only real complaint is the side button placement being awkward for me personally. Overall I think that G.Skill has done a real good job with the MX780. I personally would like to see a little more heft, but this is a minor complaint. The mouse does had the two 4.5g weights that can be added. I had fun messing with the different lighting zones and setting them up to match my environment. My son, who tried the mouse as well also was impacted by accidental side button presses. Except, the side buttons near my pinkie are in a slightly awkward position and were sometimes accidentally pressed. The laser was very accurate and with the adjustable DPI settings, offered a great gaming experience. The mouse scroll button is slightly stiff, but I liked the action and the texture of the wheel. After adjusting the palm height, it feels pretty good in the hand although I personally like a more rounded profile like on my tried and true MX500. Overall Review: First of all, the mouse is aggressive looking.
